Dear colleagues and friends,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee we are pleased to invite you to attend the “Spanish Symposium on IGFs and Insulin 2022: Implications in Physiology and Disease”, to be held at the CIBIR in Logroño (La Rioja) on April 21-22, 2022.

The objective of this Symposium is to bring together local Spanish researchers and international guests working in the field of Pathophysiology and Molecular and Cellular Biology of the IGF/insulin system, in order to learn about the research activities carried out by different groups. It will allow attendants to update and discuss the recent progresses made in the field in relation to both the physiological functions and involvement of IGFs/insulin in different pathologies, as well as to present techniques, skills, reagents, etc. of particular interest. It also aims to promote interaction and communication between the different participating groups, in order to encourage possible future collaborations. Attempts will be made to facilitate the assistance of young researchers (predoctoral students), by offering some traveling bursaries.

The meeting will feature relevant international guests in the field such as Prof. Rosemary O'Connor (University College Cork, Ireland), Prof. Paula Moreira (Universidad de Coimbra, Portugal) and Dr. Andreas Höeflich (Leibniz Institute for Farm Animal Biology, Dummerstorf, Germany). The meeting will also include keynote talks and posters. The official language will be English.

The “Spanish Symposium on IGFs and Insulin” meeting is a great opportunity for young and senior researchers to establish new collaborations, foster networking relationships and make contacts for joint projects.

We encourage you to join us!

Best wishes,

José G. Pichel & Isabel Varela Nieto (Organizers)
